Assalam o alaikum everyone:)
Long time and no posts,i apologize.Since i got back from my vacations, life has been very hectic. Its been close to impossible to update the blog.but now that i a am free ,how about one of my all time fav dishes....
street food in Pakistan is just incredible. All the aromas and flavors are such a delight for some one like me(i am a self proclaimed street food addict). But the one treat that i always like to have on a trip to a food stall is Channa chat :)
CHANNA CHAT/ALOO CHOLAY
And PLEASE "follow" if you like the blog. I can always use more encouragement :)
CHICKEN CROQUETTES:
When masala tv started broadcasting, it changed the whole concept of the food industry in Pakistan,It basically gave access to someone sitting at home , who had no idea about cooking , a "how to" manual about anything and everything food related.Nothing was off limits any more.I swear, no where in the world has chicken been cooked in so many different ways ;)
PAKORA 101
When i was in middle school i was a very chubby kid.In fact my nickname was "moti" (or fatso).... ;)I hated that nickname with a vengeance but i couldn't do much about it as i loved to eat(and also i had not yet been introduced to the concept of starving my self to death in the name of dieting). In time i lost most of my baby fat and Allah gifted me with a metabolism that is too fast for my weight to catch up:) But my love for food is still there in all its glory.I am a junk food addict (literally). I can eat from food stalls on my street for the rest of my life and not complain.
My mom is a great cook(as all Pakistani moms are). I always wanted to cook like her but for some reason i could never get quiet the flavor profile that she has in her food. Pakora's are the first thing i learned to cook exactly like her.So i am really proud of this recipe.

SOOJI KA HALWA:
"Sooji" or semolina is used in Pakistan to make a very delicious dessert called "sooji ka halwa". It is usually made during religious festivals and eaten as it is or with "poori" which is made of flour.
It is very easy to make and really tasty.Particularly the breakfast of "halwa poori" is very famous and a lot of hotels and vendors sell it piping hot for their early morning customers.
